The children's home New Steps, is a center open, with a clear vocation to family and social reintegration, with very marked objectives, so that children are aware of their strengths and all the opportunities they have at their disposal.
We serve children with different problems, abandoned children, victims of sexual abuse or parental neglect, orphanhood or in situations of extreme poverty.
We work to promote resilience with a good team, composed of counselors, psychologists, teachers and several donors that nourish us with their experience and good work. The home currently serves 30 children. We have a mentoring program resilient. In the tutorials we apply the instrumental enrichment program for improvement of cognitive functions developed by Reuven Feuerstein.
It is through this area, which we daily hope, we build relationships, we are partakers of the problems of children and inducers of possible solutions, always understanding what our environment, availing ourselves of the social fabric around us, not creating dependencies and always, but always ready to provide the necessary assistance.
We offer children and their families health care in cases where the Integral Health Insurance (SIS) has no coverage and that, given current conditions, are many. Transacted their hospitalizations according to the need required or propitiate the removal of the child to Lima if necessary.
Also from the area of social action, we provide assistance in obtaining birth certificates and registration (birth records) extemporaneous, a problem that affects a large segment of the child population.
We also take care of the education of those children that their problems can not attend school and reescolarizamos teenagers who left school before finishing.
